History

Our company – Marzek Kner Packaging Llc. – is very proud of its two predecessors in printing. Focusing on our closer location, it was Izidor Kner who established his plant in 1882, while Andor Tevan developed his workshop in 1903. Possessing experiences inherited through generations, we have been a significant player of packaging material manufacturing in Europe for several decades.

  • 1882 - The company was founded by Isidore Kner. Our company has more than 130 years of experience in the printing industry
  • 1920 - Start of production of packaging (our first customer was Richter Gedeon Plc.)
  • 1992 - Privatization of Kner Printing House. The company becomes a member of the COFINEC Group
  • 1992 - 1994 Major investments with financial support from COFINEC
  • 1996 - The introduction of COFINEC's shares into the Budapest and Luxembourg Stock Exchanges
  • 1997 - The merger of Kner and Petőfi Printing Houses, foundation of COFINEC Hungary Plc.
  • 2000 - Acquistion of COFINEC-shares by the Frantschach company group
  • 2000 July - The new owner splits the company into six independent legal entities
  • 2000 August - COFINEC Kner Label Products Ltd. established
  • 2005 October - Marzek Etiketten GmbH acquires Kner Printing House
  • 2006-2014 - Investment in Kner Printing House worth of 4,5 billion HUF
  • 2011 January - Introduction of the new name of the company, Marzek Kner Packaging Llc
  • 2014 - The number of employees amounted to 300 persons.
  • 2014 - The company's turnover exceeded HUF 7 billions.
